Swangology: Exploring the Art & Technique of Swango
Dance Fusion
Swango is where Swing and Tango meet in
an intimate embrace. There is a smooth elasticity and
creative improvisation to West Coast Swing and Argentine Tango Nuevo that
make them more than compatible. When dancing Swango,
whips flow into colgadas which flow into underarm
turns which flow into ganchos, etc. I have been
developing and promoting Swango as a fusion dance
since 2005, holding classes and workshops in Orlando. Currently with my teaching partner
in Santa Cruz,
Lynne Caryl, we have been giving workshops and
classes since summer 2010. Check out our weekly Argentine Tango classes at
the Palomar Ballroom, and our monthly alternative Tango events at the Palomar
and club Motiv.
